It has a slightly shallower cup than the AT5U and is more bowl-shaped, giving a powerful, well-centred sound which would be ideal in both orchestral and chamber music playing. There is a distinct ‘shelf’ at the bottom of the cup which helps achieve a concentrated power that gives a sound that really projects.
